Mogadishu-Ayaamaha-U.S. President Donald Trump has asserted that negotiations with Iran are underway, even as Tehran launched a fresh wave of missile attacks targeting central Israel, intensifying an already volatile regional conflict.
Trump described the discussions as “productive” and suggested a potential diplomatic breakthrough could be near. However, Iranian officials have firmly denied that any direct talks are taking place, casting doubt on prospects for de-escalation.

The latest escalation saw Iranian missiles strike areas including Tel Aviv, causing damage to buildings and injuring civilians, according to initial reports. The attacks come amid ongoing exchanges of fire between Israel and Iran, with both sides continuing military operations despite international calls for restraint.
Analysts say the renewed strikes undermine diplomatic efforts, highlighting a widening gap between Washington’s claims and Tehran’s position. Israeli officials have also expressed skepticism about the likelihood of any imminent agreement.
The conflict, now entering its fourth week, has raised fears of a broader regional war, with mounting casualties and increasing pressure on global energy markets.
